This movie had a good idea, but was hindered by the annoying soundtrack and inappropriate comic relief... I'm sure the remake would have lived up to the potential had it been directed by Craven himself. I think my greatest complaint about the original is that we have the STUPIDEST group of villains in any slasher movie! Wanted fugitives, content to hide out in the home of the parents whose daughter they just tortured/raped/killed??? Someone PLEASE present them with the Dumbass Award!!!!!!!
