In this Slanted lens video we look at a simple process to shoot an evening sky and balance it with the artificial lighting from city lights. Rather its a simple street light or a full on city scape this process works. We shot a scene for Pilot Freight Services using this method and got great results. We shot our background plate of the bridge and city lights and combined it with a shot done later of the truck. The video explains why we had to do it in two images. Keep on click-in! Jay P. Morgan

  • Why ISO 125?

ISO 125 is a "digital" ISO and exhibits about the same amount of noise as ISO 800 (on the 7D). You could've gone 1/3 stop lower or higher and gotten much better noise control.

  • @fostersnellphoto The iso 125 was a miss print. I shot at 160 ISO. Sorry that created some confusion. Your right about the noise exhibited by 125 being a digital ISO and not a native one. 160 is a native ISO and has the noise control that I talked about in the video. Thanks

  • What lenses do you primarily use?

  • @bluebob951 We are using all Tamron lenses on our 7D.

  • Why ISO 125 not 100?

  • @kwanbkk The iso 125 was a miss print. I shot at 160 ISO. Sorry that created some confusion. 160 is a native ISO and has the noise control that I talked about in the video. Thanks

  • @slewis My wife hates talking about her work. I keep trying to convince her to do so. Its not easy. I mean convincing her, not being married.
