I so need to find a scribe. I miss figures, my first medal back in 1990 was in Figures. We need to bring it back.

where the heck was this competition? the "figure" is great!!! In fact, I'm considering attempting it myself to show my students and see if they can do it! And i loved the judges standing on the side .... oh what memories! thanks for sharing this video - it made my day! and yes, the pineapple was priceless!

This figure won over one performed by a two-time national figures champion. In figures, looking at the ice is not a flaw. The skater must align the figure with the long and short axes of the rink, must have the circles exactly the same size, must position the turns "just so" and pointed toward the center of the circles, and must trace the figure exactly three times. You've GOT to look at the ice.
