At age 10, Fanny Price is sent by her destitute mother to live with her aunt and uncle, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram. As a child she was often made to feel that she was the poor relation but by the time she reaches 18, and in the absence of her uncle who leaves on a business trip for an extended period, she begins to enjoy herself. When Henry Crawford and his sister Mary become neighbors to the Bertrams, opportunities abound. Edmond Bertram falls in love with Mary but she wants to marry a man with money, not someone destined to life as a clergyman. Meanwhile, Fanny's love for her cousin Edmond prevents her from accepting Mr. Crawford's proposal of marriage.

  • Billie is cute, she is sexy, she is saucy, she is cheeky, she is fun to be with, she has those voluptuous feminine forms. I love Billie.

She is everything that Fanny is not. Fanny, in one word is meek. Five minutes is enough I don’t even want to see the rest. They show Billie galloping around the grounds on horseback. Fanny would fall off a horse that went any faster than a slow walk. Sacrilege!

Billie would have been a great Mary Crawford, though,

Oh, and the meek, of course, are blessed.

  • Blake Ritson is beautiful.

  • @Momphert that's only how you've seen her in her other roles. personally, i think she plays the role of fanny price quite well. as fanny, she isnt trying to be saucy or sexy. additionally, in the novel, fanny says she gets over her fear of horses and becomes quite proficient at horse riding.

  • @002sprinkles that one wasn't completely faithful to the book :(

  • @BexMatthies

You're right about Pride and Prejudice 2005, I discussed this with some of my friends who adore Jane Austen adaptations like I do. There were many crimes against cannon in that movie. What I loved about it was the scenery and the landscapes as well as the soundtrack.

  • @Kajujuu I totally disagree. I think this version is overly american, and the clothing is horrible. The clothes in the 1999 are very nice, though.

  • @princessivoryrose Actually the costumes in the PP from 2005 are not very accurate, they are cut way to low to be proper regency and not full enough to be the so called round gowns of the late 1790's. And the hair of the Bennet girls, especially Lizzy and the two younger ones are very unaccurate. I do have to agree with you on the NA from 2007. The costumes were very nicely done and also told alot about the characters wearing them.

  • the 1999 version was way better this one sucks

  • why mr. elton! what are you up to now?

  • Johnny Lee-Miller and Blake Ritson must've gotten a kick out of this on the set of Emma.

    "I was in Mansfield Park."

"I was also in Mansfield Park!"

"So I came back, cuz I love Austen."

    "I also love Austen!"
