Chapter 15
It took me about a week to process Pernille's lecture on happiness and in the end I decided it was worth a try. I wasn't going to stop seeing Joe, but I wasn't exactly agreeing to be his girlfriend either, it was just giving my self a chance to be happy. Shit, I can't believe I just said that.

"Do I have to go to school today?" I whined tiredly Tuesday morning while sending Jon my best set of pleading eyes.
"Yup," he simply answered, refilling my cup with coffee. I groaned as I let my head slam down on the table.
"Ouch,"
"Come on, drink your coffee, Joe will be here any minute." Jon encouraged. I stayed down, closing my eyes. If I was sleeping they couldn't make me go to school, right?

I'm sorry to say I was wrong. It only took Joe 10 seconds to realize what I was trying to pull and then another 10 seconds to sweep me off the chair and throw me up on his shoulder.
"Joe put me down, now!" I said sternly, hitting his back.
"Sorry, no can do." He replied. "I'll drop her of after school!"
"Thank you Joe," Jon smiled. "Have fun at school!" he called out after us, as Joe carried me out the kitchen.
"Bite me!" I yelled back. "Joe put me down!"
"Are you going to walk to the car by yourself?" he asked. Uhm no?
"Yes. Now put me down."
"Sorry. I'm just not buying it!" Joe said. I rolled my eyes and started pounding on his back again.
He arched his back. "Uh yes thats the spot."
Even though I know people only say that to trick you in to stopping, I stopped, I decided sulking worked so much better, especially when he couldn't see me do it...
He yanked me up a bit, placing my head exactly in front his butt - perfect.
"You better not drop me!" I yelled. He laughed.
"And you better not fart!"

I somehow managed to survive all the way to lunch, heck I was even starting to feel a little more awake. Ameera was waiting outside my classroom, ready to take me to lunch. Even though my stalker hasn't been heard from since Joe and I started hanging out again, everyone was still looking out for me, never leaving me alone.
"You know, I doubt my stalker will jump out and grab while I'm walking from a classroom to my locker." I said sarcastically.
She looked at me with pondering eyes. "If that actually happens, I'm so doing my I-told-you-so-dance."
I laughed. "I did not need to know that."
"Need to know what?" she asked confused.
"Need to know that you have an I-told-you-so-dance." I explained as punched open my locker.
"Everybody has an I-told-you-so-dance!" she corrected me.
"I dont..." I said, proving her wrong.
"Well, you're not normal, so you don't count." She grimaced.
I shook my head as I grabbed my lunch and a bottle of water out of my locker. Weird, I could have sworn I hadn't brought a bottle of water this morning. Oh well, I probably left one yesterday.

We found the others under the tree. Nick and Pernille were already discussing something, while Joe was just sitting, silently watching them. I sat down next him.
"What now?" I asked, taking a sip of water.
"He asked her out." Joe explained. I exchanged a quick glance with Ameera, we were both impressed.
"Then why are they arguing?" Ameera asked.
"I think he did it wrong." Joe answered.
"How can you ask someone out wrong?" Ameera wondered out loud, looking at me. I shrugged, I was suddenly feeling very tired again. I yawned loudly and leaned up against Joe, who instinctively wrapped his arm around me.
"Are you okay?"
I nodded, with my eyes closed. "I'm just really tired." Lie.
"You don't look too hot," he said.
"Gee thanks! You sure know how to make a girl feel special!" I groaned, even when I feel like shit I'm sarcastic.
He ran his hand across my forehead. "You're a little warm," he said, sounding worried.
"I'm acutally not feeling that good," I admitted.
"Drink some water," Ameera ordered. I did, but it didn't help.
"Want me to take you home?" Joe asked.
I shook my head. "No it's fine, you have class. I'll just call Jon or James."

After the others left for class, I stayed outside, waiting for Jon to come pick me up. Only problem was, I was starting to feel worse, I was even having a hard time sitting up straight. Damn it Jon, what's taking you so long?

"Are you okay?" I heard a voice ask. I opened my eyes to see who it was, but my eyes couldnt focus. He bent down over me.
"Jon?" I asked drowsily.
"No," the voice answered. "I'm not Jon." He added as he picked me up.

Hmmm I wonder what happened to her...
