Love the warnings, even simple tricks might be a problem or even dangerous :) I'm teaching my horse to bow/lie down, not exactly as you show but with a rope on the hoof and over his back (not tied up) then lift the hoof with my hand and let the rope hold it. Using a halter to ask him go back and a hand on the wither to back down (mostly just using the hand now). He's hesitant and a bit insecure but we take it slow. :) I like your approach.
I have a bay quarter horse and whenever I try this with her, she will get down on one knee and imedietly get back up but im not strong enough to hold her down! what should i do?

as soon as she gets up cue her again to bow ,dont wait for her to settle.

dont let the clicker are the people who wants to treat a horse like human hear that.. lol OH you notice how smokey was upset with the dog.lolol oh thats right he wasnt he has been trained and not put in a box..lololol
