Party Race Crash Sep 09

Some footage from my efforts at the last Mazda Roadster (MX-5/Miata) Party race here in Japan. Its at Tsukuba circuit. I started 11th and quickly lost about 3 places before gaining 1 back and finally crashing out :-( Still, it was a fun race and I learned a lot from it.

As for the crash, I think it was rather avoidable if the other car had not tried to maintain his speed and position when coming back on to the track. I was pretty sure, I was safe when all of a sudden...

Do you race on slick or threaded tires? What serie is that exactly?

@traxnada - it's a series called the Party Race. It is run mostly around Tsukuba. This year, its called Party Race II but I haven't raced this year yet. Next year I'm planning on racing again. Tires are Bridgestone RE-11 205/50R16.

Such a good comeback after a shaky start, too. Enjoyed the dice with the white car, very brake into the last turn.

Your TCR seems very stable under braking, much better than my NC!

Thanks. It was a fun race. Next one is only 5 days away now and the car is back in one piece again. Brakes on the NC seem to quite the delicate thing. Have fun out there!

pioneer actually... The race has a minimum weight restriction of 1095kg and my car comes to about 1092kg empty so having the stereo in is no real problem. I just wish the weight restriction was car+driver so that it would even up the field a bit more for me :-)
