Walter Mony Memorial

Walter's grandchildren have put together a tribute to their grandfather using family photos and videos. Many of these were taken over the years in the Christmas holidays when family managed to get together for a few precious days. Walter was usually at the centre of the kids games and fun. To Jessica and Nicole he was their own "pop star Wally". A traditional family Christmas concert by Peter and Jenni's children, often quite raucous, always had Wally participating. The video opens with Walter and Peter playing Paganini at Christmas 2006. A recording by the Nederburg Harp Trio of Walter Mony, Lucien Grujon and Kathleen Alistair from the early 70's sets the mood to images giving a glimpse of the private family side of Walter. A beautiful poem by Nadia and Melissa playing the saxophone with her arrangement of a jazz piece by Dollar Brand, conclude the tribute.
