Conway Scenic: Snow Train

Happy New Year everyone!

January 10th-11th saw the Conway Scenic Railroad running special trains during "Snow Train Weekend." The thermometer reads -10°F as locomotive #7470 (still wearing Canadian National heralds from a recent photo charter) steams to Glen, NH and return. Back at the station, Austrian ski pioneer Hannes Schneider's 1939 arrival to the region is reenacted.

I'm not sure. As you heard, this was a good 15-20 minutes before departure and the consist was fully assembled, so I don't think any whistle signals were necessary. All I noticed was Courtney laughing afterwards and telling someone watching, "He's gonna kill me!"

The one long when the train isn't moving means applying breaks. I think they forgot he was up there and called for a break test.

I keep trying to get to Conway, but something always comes up to get in the way. I'll get over there eventually. LOL.
