That's cool -- he's a great paddler -- very bold for such an unassuming guy!

It took us about 3 hours to get to Galliano Island and 8 hours to Swartz Bay -- a fun crossing. All of the straits around VI have their own personalities and wheather makes each crossing unique, current too -- the wind picked up for us in the last third and we were surfing our way along -- I think we had a 30 knot wind warning and the wind did whip up to 20 knots or so -- the long, exposed crossings are well worth the effort and risk -- the open and vast sea and sky makes you feel so small.

I have been wondering about this crossing for a while now.... how long did it take you guys??
