  • How can she say there's no protest against economic reform in India? What are the Maoist movement and all the workers' strikes and other protests, all the adivasi and landless struggles and many women's protests about? She seems to want to reduce democracy to electioneering which has never been what Indian democracy has been only about, since before the British even allowed any significant elections during the Raj.
