Indeed, the sound is nice, rich, and mellow, but I would not, dubblechinn, attribute this to the instrument. Rather, I would say that the wonderful tone ought to be attributed to the instrument's wonderful player.

Wie schon einige Kommentare sagen: Die Aufnahmetechnik ist fürchterlich. Totaler Hall, der alle Instrumente versoßt. Philharmonie hin- Philharmonie her. Wer nimmt denn bloß sowas auf? Und dann nur so ein Häppchen von 4:32. Man sollte das Video bei Youtube herauswerfen..
Außerdem wäre es ganz nett, wenn die geschätzten Damen und Herren Uploader sich mal die Mühe machten und schrieben, wer denn da eigentlich zu hören ist.Könnte ja vielleicht noch etwas mehr interessieren als der Ort der Aufnahme.

What´s the problem of using microphones and diverse technologies NOWADAYS? Things can´t be like in real Brahms´ era anymore! Sure, the sound isn´t soft, but it´s clear. The only problem I see is that the piece was cut, it´s incomplete. The time is good, as this movement is not an 1800 adagio or grave. You have also here a slower recording by Thomas Friedli, pretty nice, softer.

that this recording is out of fase
because of the use of a lot microphones
swimming pool sound......

Perfect on the high tones, Nuno Pinto perfect in the lower ones.
