Till the End of Time [Chapter 14 Part 2]

**With Kevin and Paige.**

KEVIN: So how are things?

PAIGE: Everything actually is going really well.

KEVIN: You sound surprised.

PAIGE: Well, just with everything from Jesse and all...

KEVIN: Oh yeah! Have you talked to him recently?

PAIGE: Actually, yes, I have. He called me a few days after we went to the beach with you guys and told me that he was really sorry and that he loved me. He promised never to cheat on me ever again. [Simply.] So I forgave him. We are going out again.

KEVIN: Just like that? After all he did to you, you just took him back?

PAIGE: *Defensively.* Yes, is there something wrong with that?

KEVIN: *Frustrated.* Well, he's cheated on you... how many times? And you are ready to completely forgive him and let him back into your life?

PAIGE: *Starting to get annoyed with Kevin.* Yes. I am. And if you have a problem with that, I really don't want to hear it. If you wont support me then I don't need your criticisms.

*She turned her back on Kevin so she was facing the window. He looked at her angry profile, sighed, and leaned across the table towards her.*

KEVIN: You're right. Paige, I am so sorry. It's really not my business. I shouldn't have commented.

PAIGE: *Turning back to him.* No, you shouldn't have! I can make decisions on my own!

KEVIN: I know that, and I'm sorry.

PAIGE: *Sighing.* It's okay. Sorry I got so mad.

KEVIN: No, I was being nosy. I just don't want to see you get hurt!

PAIGE: I know, and I appreciate that. It's nice to have someone looking out for me, in case I do something stupid. *She smiles at Kevin.* But in this case, I hope that I did the right thing.

KEVIN: *Smiling back.* I'm sure you did. So do you accept my apology?

PAIGE: Of course.

**With Nick and Gabrielle.**

NICK: So, tell me about school. Who are your friends, besides Brynn and Paige?

GABRIELLE: Well, I never really see Brynn or Paige during the day, because they are both older than me. But, lets see...In school, I usually hang out with my friend Jillian. She's really sweet.

NICK: Hmm, I will have to meet her one day. So, do you have any guy friends?

GABRIELLE: Well, actually, yeah. I play hockey and basketball with this kid Conner from my social studies class, and he's really nice. Then there's Ethan, who's been on the football team with me since I was in second grade. And then there's Jacob.

NICK: *Noticing her lack of detail about Jacob, he is immediately interested.* Who's Jacob?

GABRIELLE: Well, he is pretty much the most popular kid in the entire freshman class. And we actually, erm, went out last night.

*Nick felt his heart drop into his stomach. Gabrielle had gone out with another guy?*

NICK: *With a forced smile.* Oh. So, how did it go?

GABRIELLE: Okay. He seems nice. But, I mean, think about it! The coolest guy in the entire grade asks me out?!?

NICK: *Still forcing himself to remain calm.* Wow, that's awesome. *Casually.* So...are you going to see him again?

GABRIELLE: I hope so!

NICK: That's awesome. *Completely fakes his smile.* I am really happy for you.

GABRIELLE: Thanks. You are a great friend, did you know that?

NICK: *Holding his forced smile in place.* So I've heard.

*Gabrielle smiles at him, completely oblivious to the painful hole she had just made in his heart.*

*After they had all eaten, the brothers admitted that they had sneaked away from a photo shoot, and needed to hurry back. The girls thanked them and told them to call whenever they had the time. Gabrielle gave Nick a hug as he left, and Paige waved at Kevin before he closed the door behind the three of them. Just then, however, the door flew back open and Joe sprinted inside, panting. He turned to Brynn and bent down again to kiss her lightly on the cheek. She blushed as he squeezed her hand and ran outside to catch up with his brothers. Ignoring the surprised looks from Gabrielle and Paige, Brynn led the way back to their houses.*
