@AlanR511 What pray tell do you mean by "scientists"? What are their names? Gochta will NEVER be the third tallest waterfall in the world.
-
@treborrev What an ignorant person you are, mate. What about several of Norway's tallest waterfalls? You conveniently forget these.
-
Gochta is NOT the third tallest waterfall in the world. It isn't even the tallest waterfall in Peru. Go to the World Waterfall Database for the CORRECT information.

¡A Pucxa! ya somos internacionales Wow! =O Ta Bien KZM! Q viva ChaCraPoyas xD!
They are working on the new trail now. Which reduces some of the climbing and descending. A suspension bridge will go in over the Golondrina River. Now takes 2-2.6 hours to get to the base of the falls.

god people are stupid, we got scientists that even say its the 3rd highest in the world. it is the 15th highest, possibly 14th if colonial creek falls is measured properly. still an impressive waterfall though.

Your looking at world waterfall database, right? Check the real measurements - many of them haven't been properly measured, The figure you see on the page is based on local beliefs, topomaps and some run dry in summer. So once you go through all that -you will see that Gocta is the third - maybe only for the time being, but until somebody measures the others the Gocta remains the third.

beautiful!
when did you go?
the path seems rough, but safe.
2-1/2 hour walk? I thought it took twice that time to get there.
I am going over there towards the end of january :)

Thepath can be muddy in places and steep- but it is fine for competent walkers. Used to be 5 hours to get there - but the improved the path a while back. There is a project to improve this trail further in 2007
