Here is the video many of you have been waiting for! Here is my trip to the Tamiya Plamodel Factory store in Shimbashi, Tokyo! This store was incredible, and better than I had imagined! Check out the neat stuff I bought! I was surprised to see a selection of Italeri models there, too. Italeri is a plastic model manufacturer in Italy. Perhaps Tamiya is their distributor in Japan?

  • I'm jealous, very, very much jealous. . .lol

I love Tamiya kits, paints and supplies. The whole EPA thing is still hurting me here in California. Still a hard time getting their sprays, and I need some for Tamiya's A-10 Thunderbolt II. . .:-(

Those side cutters are awesome. Wish more shops in the US would carry more of their stuff. . .If I got the store I'd totally geek out- drop to my knees and kiss the floor. That place should be every modelers pilgrimage.

  • @BlueFox284 EPA bullying Tamiya is total BS. If the EPA really cared about the environment and air quality, they would put an end to factory farming, which affects way more people than those who paint models and such. I think that just as with the Toyota floor mat crap a while back, the government pushing Tamiya around is bogus and only seeks self-interests. I sincerely doubt there was anything harmful with their paints to begin with.

  • @stevethefishdotnet Well I think its all about the cans being in nothing but Japanese. A new can I got was entirely wrapped in a English label. The manager at one of the shops told me that Testor's Corp. might of turned them in as well. Like you said, the whole EPA thing is BS.

  • @BlueFox284 I'm sure Testors had some part in it, just as GM (Government Motors) must have had something to do with the absurd Toyota complaints about floor mats causing accidents. I'm sure Gunze Sangyo paints will be next. Tamiya just has more circulation in American hobby stores than GS paints do (Mr. Hobby Color paints).
