Revisiting Kadyrov's Grozny

Big Brother-like pictures of Ramzan Kadyrov, Chechnya's stocky 32-year-old leader, hang everywhere in Grozny, along with signs of praise and thanks. But as RFE/RL correspondent Gregory Feifer discovered during an August 2009 visit to interview Ramzan Kadyrov, there are signs of a deep fear beneath the veneer of devoted optimism.

It's funny how some people are saying Kadirov is the best. We Chechens never called our streets in the name of those bloody whores who massacred our nation, violated our rights, murdered our women and children, tortured our beautiful and strong men >:[ what Kadirov does is like a Jew calling himself Hitler.
