Beneath A Steel Sky was a point-and-click adventure game developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment in 1994. It was initially released for PC MS-DOS and Commodore Amiga. The introduction sequence and the background graphics were done by the popular comic artist Dave Gibbons.

In August 2003, the game was released as freeware to support the development of ScummVM, a virtual machine to play old adventure games on newer systems. Since then, it's available at: http://www.scummvm.org

  • This game kicks ass! Too bad ScummVM doesn't support talkie versions of Beneath a Steel Sky.

I noticed that this footage was shortened drastically!

  • At least it should, because you can get the talkie version on the project website, too.

  • Was that video of a demo version? I played the demo and after going through that elevator hole I would get down to a furnace, go through the door and the demo would end. Anyway, great game. One of the best adventures out there.

  • You actually get to the furnace, but I decided to use some scenes from the game instead :)

  • And why in hell would you like it in new graphics?!? Whats wrong whit the original one? Make it whit new flashy graphics.. And you will destroy the game.. ;)

  • Exactly. If you don't like games that look like this, that's your problem. But Broken sword was destroyed when it went to 3D. It didn't have the charm the others had. If this went 3d it would be awful.
