Cooperstown Brewing Pride of Milford Special Ale | Chad'z Beer Reviews #492

For the 4th of July holiday I thought I would review the most "patriotic and/or American-themed' beer in my fridge. So I'm reviewing the baseball-themed Cooperstown Brewing Company's "Pride of Milford Special Ale". I actually have given this beer a brief review TWO YEARS ago when I was visiting Xpoweruser and PersianLad in Pennsylvania. Anyways, it's been a long time since I've sat down and given this thing a serious look. Happy Independence Day! Play ball!

BREWERY'S DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION:
"Pride of Milford" is a very special ale with a tapestry of complex flavors and aromas. It is brewed with five malts and fermented with the Ringwood yeast at a higher temperature which gives this beer a uniqueness all its own. "Pride" has a distinctive reddish copper color. It is strong and rich beer. When "Pride" was first brewed in December 1999, many thought the flavor and aromas of this beer had fruit overtones. No fruit or adjunct flavoring is added to this beer. The unique flavor comes from our special brewing process.
Original Gravity 1.070/ Final Gravity 1.012/ 7.7% abv.

Ohhhh, I remember this one ;)

I always got a spiced christmas-e type feel from this beer (Coriander?). It's been a long time though. Speaking of Cooperstown area breweries have you noticed a difference in the Ommegang and Hennepin beers since they've changed hands in 03? I have, Hennepin was once an accessible Orval clone, now it tastes watery and lackluster. Everything seems dialed down a bit.
