With all the brands of supplements out there, it is tough to know which brand is best. You should be taking a vitamin and mineral supplement daily to fill in the gaps where your diet may be lacking in micro-nutrients. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is a nongovernmental, non-profit, official public standardssetting authority for prescription and overthecounter medicines and other health care products manufactured or sold in the United States. USP also sets widely recognized standards for food ingredients and dietary supplements. Manufacturers of supplements have to volunteer to have their products tested.
