  • It is a cover! Edgar Winter's "We All Had A Real Good Time"! I thought it sounded 70's! LOL

  • I think this song was recorded with Ed's Ibanez Destoryer which was originally white at this time and plugged into a Marshall amp (The only amplifier Eddie would use for many years!). I don't think Van Halen wrote this song. I believe it's a cover. A 70's cover by the sounds of it!

  • @mrbrianmccarthy It is not a strat it was before Ed dumped a PAF in a Charvel Strat. And it aint a Les Paul. Maybe an Ibanez Destroyer through his Marshall Superlead. We cant really judge the tone as it is a very early demo but Ed still plays brilliantly even with a crappy sound we can hear the genious even then

  • This is Genesis. Eddie before any of his tricks it shows the rhythmical funky genious of his lead playing before any of the current players were doing it. In my mind Ed just pioneered funky lead guitar that Nuno Bettencourt and the current crop of rhytmical players have taken to a higher level. I think he was actually a better player in 75 at the age of 19 or 20 than he is now.

  • @mrbrianmccarthy This is a cover of an Edgar Winter Band song

  • @PIlotrcm Yes I agree Ed manages to get such a great feel even from this. It sounds like a straight wound up Marshall Super Lead with his PAF pickup in the Frankenstrat. But you know the best sound I can ever describe is an old Marshall wound up with an early Ibanez overdrive pedal. I have 3 Tube Screamers. mark 1 mark 2 and mark 3 and they are all brillaint, Much better than Boss pedals

  • Damn Ed is LOUD not that thats a bad thing.

  • @havertrace Yes I agree. Edward should let his son go to college and study instead of installing him in the band. I have seen VH with the new line up and it was much better with Sammy and Mike. Check this out VH at their best. I like DLR but if you are a purist then this is fab XXX

  • Elixer did this cover WAY better than this!
