I've wanted a pocketknife since I was little. I was always picking up those cheap little $5-$10 knives at convenience stores just so I had one to carry. Now that I'm an adult, I felt it was time to upgrade to a real knife.

After talking with other knife enthusiasts and watching a ton of great reviews, I ultimately settled on the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian plain edge with a modified sheep's foot blade, and I'm so happy I did.

I got the Mini-Griptilian a couple of weeks ago and have been using it as part of my EDC (every day carry) setup since. It's a small knife - the blade is only 2.91 inches (which is within my state's legal limits), which is convenient for me. The grip fits my hand well, and there isn't a better locking system out there than the Axis mechanisim.

In my experience of these past two weeks of carry, this knife has performed great for me, and I use this video to demonstrate. I go through a couple of fun cutting tests to show how the Mini-Griptilian performs.

Without effort, I slice through paper (my old physics homework, to be specific - that was very satisfying to shred), a ripe plum, a huge potato, and a grapefruit. For another demonstration of the knife's factory edge, I drop cherry tomatoes onto the blade to see if they'll bounce off, or get sliced... I miss quite a few in the process though.

Lastly, I open up a package of one of my favorite foods, bacon, and cut through the whole package, separating the slices in half.

Overall, Benchmade's Mini-Griptilian is a great performer at just the right EDC size, but it also looks great - check it out!
I review my new EDC knife, a Benchmade...watch and let me know what you think!

  • Great knife choice and fun video. NEVER apologize for your love of bacon, but otherwise keep up the good work, you just got a new sub.

  • @k1ngkoo0pa Lol well thankyou - for the support and the sub.

  • Cool review! The blade looks a little like my new Pacific Salt II. I got it because it can't rust, and it'll be perfect for diving. I'm taking it out kayaking tomorrow. All that food made me hungry! When you're ready to get sharpening stuff, find virtuovice on youtube and learn about stropping. If you strop often, you won't have to hone the knife, and it'll last forever. Wish I could find a girl like you who likes knives.

  • @aTellerOfTruths That's great! And lol I ate the bacon right after I finished recording. Those plums were awesome too... Thanks for the recommendation ;] And they're out there!

  • Nice knife! The BM Grips are really nice knives:)

  • @darkchild57 Thanks. I was pleased with the purchase. I still get great use out of it.

  • don't you even try one more time denying that you are gorgeous...I mean you really got the total package (nice vids, martial artist, humorous, handling firearms and knives, cool dog, studying etc.) ;-) go on and keep it real anyways!! ;-) !!!

  • O.m.g. It has a round hole... No bueno

  • and truly a beautiful, pocket knife. has a very sharp blade not recommended, for the defense as very small. much better than a combat knife. But congratulations for your video, you are very pretty

  • MANNNNNNNNNNNNNN now i'm jonsin for a BLT something fierce! oh yeah and the knife was cool too lol

  • I have a Benchmade 550HG Griptilian, I love it. I am planning on buying a blue 555HG Mini-Griptilian to complement my 550HG sometime. You made a good choice with the 555HG Mini-Griptilian.

  • I recommend the spyderco sharpmaker. That knife is heirloom quality:)

  • I want some bacon! :-)

  • I can get that in auto :)

  • damn you could probably perform surgery with that thing

  • Your personality is infectious.... btw, as good as the BM mini grips are let me suggest the spyderco paramilitary 2 as your next knife purchase...
