@congaleader2000 the captain doesn't have much of a choice.if the airline pushes him/her,then it must be done.As you can see this aircraft is not the only one taking off.So the pilot could even receive a suspension.

Thats what I call a proper turbulent takeoff! So many put rubbish videos of planes just flying through a cloud and call it turbulence! But that was a great video! :D

@dray96 thats not the ATC. Thats the cockpit GPWS telling the pilots to monitor their weather radar displays for turbulent, bad weather.

this captain needs to have his HEAD examined taking off in conditions like that! it is obvious that there is strong turbulence and windshear associated with this storm! Hate piltos that think are better than mother nature!!!

He was the Pilot in Command so I'm sure he knew what he was doing. Chek Lap Kok didn't close due to the typhoon but we did have to wait for the rain to stop before taking off as he stated on the runway.

Yes, the laughter was two Chinese children sitting in front of me. I think they enjoyed the takeoff :) it was pretty good.
