Trying the advanced you tube uploader to see if the resolution improved. Think its a little better. This is my bro's salt water fish tank - 240 gallon deep sand bed refugium, 10,000 gph internal flow, LED Actinic lighting, 400w metal-halide (14,000k), 100 gallon fresh water top-off, large Euro-Reef 12" diameter skimmer plus ozone. This tank is 18 months old but is the 3rd generation of a salt water set-up that has been running for 12 years. Most of the tangs except for the Naso Tang are 11-12 years old.

  • One more thing, what type of cleaning crew do you have? How many of what type each? Thanks!

  • @huskysglare1 My bro replies: "4 sand sifting starfish, 2 cucumber, 200 various hermits, 150-200 snails varying from small to 2.5" various types, thousands of micro brittle stars throughout rock is keeping everything nice and clean.

  • @mikepooter Is 20.000 k prettier? I seen it all bit, but I not sure in colour. For my own tank soon that is... I find it hard choice. Why did you go to 20k? In a way I like 10 k, for entire colours, 14 for the fresh blue look, without LOSING those colours, but 20k, cause in nature is normall, only blue reaches bottom....

  • @ikelleners Hi thanks - wattage is 1200 (3 X 400W Metal Halide) and kelvin is 14,000 at the time this photo was taken - I have now increased the kelvin to 20,000 - will post a new vid of the tank in the next few weeks.

  • @mikepooter How much wattage and with kelvin is the light?

    The light looks really nice....

  • Great looking tank, very clear as well

  • @mikepooter Thanks Mike. Much appriciated

  • @huskysglare1 My bro replies: "Sand bed in display tank ranges from 1-4" - it is not consistent in depth. Sand bed in refugium is 16".
