@badgerpissed same i am really angry that they cut it out

Easy answer:
The song was never in the theatrical release of the film. It was cut because during preview showings young audience members grew restless during the sequence. When they released it on VHS, Brian Henson (director) decided to reinsert it, feeling that it would work better in a home viewing situation.
The DVD copies of the film are simply the original theatrical version of the film

@badgerpissed Just an FYI; the song is in the full screen version of the DVD; I at first watched the wide screen and was pissed that the song was cut; but found out from the website that is is in the full screen version; This is my favoriate version of christmas carol and I watch it about 10 times each christmas season. I also think the name of the song is not credited at the end; the only thing close was "your love is like a heat wave"? go figure, I have been trying to download song.

I don't know, only that it really ruins the film to lose the explanation of why he gave up on love and turned to money as his only source of meaning in life.
I know this though, if you've looked at some of the changes to the original Star Wars DVD's, you'll soon learn there's no fathoming the minds of people who remaster DVDs. I think they just like to leave their mark on the film. If they can't find something to improve, they ruin something, just so they can say, "Look! I did that!"

It was cut because it slowed the film down apparently, So they sacrificed atmosphere for speed :-P
