Monty Python Terry Jones is in Rome to explain why the gladiator games lost popularity in Ancient Rome due to the introduction of a new moral compass by the invading Christian society. Interesting short video from BBC history show 'Gladiators: The Brutal Truth'.

  • @Zootallors Lol, maybe i am being ignorent, however, catholics have alway looked to the pope for their giudence, rather than christ. By the way i am not a baptist, love mankind, and do not deny the claims of peopels believe in jesus if they dont attend my church. Only god knows the heart of his sheep.

  • @Retro80Lady30 Study some Western Civ via real history classes--orjust read. The Catholic Church has always been "Christian," and was the original Christian church, along with the Orthodox church. Gradually, several popes ruled over the vast fallen Roman Empire; So no, the Catholic Church didn't kill Christians--you're mistaking it for the falling Rome. The Church rebuilt upon the Empire's ruins (no Lowe's yet!), on old sacred sites, incorporating each culture into the church--INclusively. READ!

  • @Zootallors Oh, and CDN? Christians outside of Rome never consider the Pope to be their leader--never. (And especially American Catholics do not.) The Baptists have an antiquated view of the world that stopped at the time of Queen Elizabeth--the First. Study some history, and come up to speed over the last five centuries, eh? You'll do yourselves--and the world--an immense favor. And you'll love yourself for it. Moreso, you'll love more human beings for it. And that was Christ's main message.

  • @TheCDNkindaguy Spoken like a true Baptist--who think only they are "real" Christians. The Catholic Church was built upon the same administrative structure as the Roman Empire's for good reasons. First, it works for huge expanses. Next, pre-Lowe's, one recycled everything. Sites sacred to each culture in vast expanses let them be inclusive of more tribes. "Sure, Brigid is a huge spirit force!" Thus, "St. Brigid"--and thus, you got more numbers. Nothing the Baptist sects don't do now.

  • Catholics are NOT christians, they love to claim that they are, however they do not follow the teaching of christ. The pope is their leader, not Jesus christ

  • @Retro80Lady30 :( yeah it's be best if those churches of the catholic church were gone you're right.

  • They killed christians than put paganism in the church. The christians refused to worship them, and their tyrant ways. I have no respect for them, and I'm glad the so called empire is gone. No matter who it is they killed they were cruel, awful, and nasty people. They thought they could conquer the world until others had eventually taken them over what foolish people. They were in high positions so their pride got a slap in the face.

  • @expatdk the Roman catholic church is just that, the universal church of rome, it has nothing to do with jesus, but everything to do with paganism and killing christians and persecuting people for gain
