Wolf I prefer Aiden o Neil version is clean, unfortunately as the originator said this is out of tune. I can't pick out as many parts of it in comparison to aidens

wow :p

great job, this version is better than the one that hater mentioned by aidan oneill, that one had no beat or soul. i also found the one by dubliners in 1975 on here, i bet thats the one you heard first =)

Have you ever had any formal training? This is wonderful!! I just got my fiddle today so I can't wait to learn this song!!

For 4 years to play the violin it's not in tune and there is no groove..I think you must study the technical of violin.Enjoy!

yes, you're right, but it's relative; in this performance i had more command than three years before, and know, three years later, i have more comand than then.
i'm trying always to improve my skill, however i have no much time to practise.

If anyone likes the tune he's playing "Farewell to Ireland" type in "Aidan O'Neill on Irish Fiddle" and click it he plays a great version of the tune. one thing I would say to you though is that your kind of making the bow really hoppy on the strings its not really what you would call energy and no offence but you dont have much command of your instrument.

by the way...yes, the version you have mentioned is much better played than mine, but it's a different style. i've heard this theme in a very differents ways; faster, slower, more and less accentuate, and even like a jig!...and the way i played it, is like i heard it the first time.

Well played! Would you mind me asking, did you just pick this tune up or do you have music for it? If so, where did you get it? I'm a fiddler myself you see and the music would save me a lot of bother, but I really want to play this reel! x

i learned this song by ear (without scores), you can find here in youtube a lot of people who plays it better than me. But you should take a look in "the session dot org" (whithout spaces...) there you´ll find this teme in ABC, MIDI, and score format, and a huge of others temes.

I had no idea that there were so many people into Celtic music in Spain! That's great! We are a brother and sister from Canada and we also play lots of Celtic music, check us out! Our mom is from Barcelona our dad French Canadian, so we're somewhere in between, we love Cape Breton :) Q.
