He had good mentorship all through the competition. People who hate on Nicole should back off. Not only did he come up with good song selections, he was able to express his own personal style, and have a mentor who allowed it. She worked well as a judge and mentor.

I wish I knew him personally. His confidence and humility are so appealing. People keep comparing him to Joe Cocker, and I can see why, but his voice is more refined, like a good whiskey...packs a punch but goes down smooth. No matter how many times I've listened (hundreds by now), he always leaves me wanting more. WHAT a rare talent.

despite the constant hype , constant praise by Simon and over exaggeration following Melanie Josh gave it his all and came out number 1 in my book

This is a chilling performance. He is by far the best singer in the completion. He deserves to win the 5 million dollar contact. We need someone like him to show the youth of this generation what soul sounds like when you truly sing from the heart.
