I have a couple of questions.
1. How often do we change guitar strings and oil the fretboard?
2. Can peanut oil substitute for linseed oil?
3. I hear that linseed oil gums up the fretboard, is there any other oil that can replace the linseed?
Thanks in adavance!

@actzz541 On that one, changing strings one at a time is not a bad idea because that will always leave pressure on the bridge and piezo stack so that it doesn't move. If you did remove them all at once and didn't notice any changes in acoustic or electric tone then likely nothing moved/changed and you're AOK. If you're unsure or still have concerns, best thing to do is consult with a repair shop or Taylor directly. Best of luck!

that last end about the tuner knob trick. however, what if you have gibson-style tulip knobs? where do you adjust?
stauggion 4 months ago
@stauggion Unless the back of the tuner cover comes off so you can tighten the gear just slightly, there is no adjustment for those type tuners. Most all tuners and sealed backs as well so there is no way of getting inside the casing. Gibson makes a fine instrument, so your tuners are probably AOK.

is this for electric guitars too? (les paul)

@yamahabmxer1 We have videos just for electric. Look for our Playlist titled, Tips & Tricks for Electric Guitars. Good luck to you!

Should I use wax on my guitar even if it doesn't have a shiny finish? Like a Taylor 110 for instance.
mattgeoffco 5 months ago
@mattgeoffco Yes, Taylor recommends that you clean and polish the satin finish on your 110 exactly the same way.
