St Helens U18s 38 v 0 Castleford Tigers U18s

The Saints U18s continued their push for the top half of the Valvoline Academy and with it inclusion in the higher echelons of the Academy game for the rest of the season, with a comfortable win against a very young Tigers side.

Led around the field by Man of the Match Danny Wakefield the Saints always had too much in the tank for the visitors.

Joe Greenwood opened the scoring after five minutes and further tries to Adam Barber and Josh Jones in the opening quarter gave the Saints a lead they never looked like relinquishing.

The versatile Dave Pike playing out on the wing increased the lead, scoring from a cross kick.

The game was put well out of the reach of the visitors just before the break as James Hill scored the Saints fifth try of the half.

The Academy eased off a little in the second half scoring only three further tries. All were scored by impact players off the bench emphasising it's' strength as Anthony Walker and Jordan O'Neill, twice, crossed.
