Ground squirrel family

Of all the little animals the comedian is the ground squirrel. When danger lurks, it warns its mates in the neighborhood. The whole group quickly disappears underground and waits till the storm is over. Especially when a coyote is around, this is not just an exercise. There is only a brief period in which ground squirrels can be seen. They hibernate for no less than 7 months.

I never dole out compliments lightly, but I just loved this. I have 13-lined ground squirrels here, and I lately have them literally eating out of my hand. I'm so sad I'm moving now, as they're not indigenous to where I'm going. They're like pets to me.

in the aleutian islands they get huge. Their only predators are Ravens and Eagles and a few arctic foxes. You could hunt them if you had to.

i got 2 ground sqirrels and i love them lol.. =P
