Samouni Family Project Gaza - Playground/Olive Tree Orchard/Com. Center - Ken O'Keefe

We initiated this project simply to plant 29 Olive Trees, one for each famliy member murdered by Israel in Operation Cast Lead. But the response was so strong that we now have the money to plant all the tress and create a playground with swings, slides, a merry go round and see-saw in a large sandpit.

More than this however we have a partnership with Right to Play (RighttoPlay.com) and a 10x7 metre covered room to make into community centre. Right to Play is a Canadian Charity that will provide mentor volunteers which means these children will get much needed attention several days a week. This is exactly what the family said was needed, so we are very excited to make this happen.

If we get more than the $1000 sought to finish off phase 2 of this project we will make the community centre even better.

Thanks to every supporter in advance, you shall be with us as we plant these trees and build the playground and community centre.

YAY!!! Finally a good (honest) cause worthy of donations. I always feel like a 'bad person' for not giving to charities, but what is the point if the money/items don't make it to the intended recipients?
