Description: Internationally acclaimed author and garden writer Jamaica Kincaid launches this year's humanities theme of Culture of Green: Nature and the Environment—a discussion probing humanity's relationship to nature—presented by the Baker-Nord Center for Humanities at Case Western Reserve University.
Kincaid, author of My Garden (Book) and Autobiography of My Mother, will give the annual Anisfield-Wolf/SAGES Lecture at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, in Amasa Stone Chapel. The free, public event is presented by the humanities center, the Cleveland Public Library and the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards®. Online registration is encouraged.

  • I was a little disappoint in her presentation but I do love her work. And though it was hard for her to put thoughts into physical words when she got it right she really got it right and got me thinking.

  • Stumbled upon this footage. Read Jamaica Kincaid's book "Biography" back '01. It was a fabulous read! Thank you Ms. Kincaid. I stumbled upon your book as well...it was required reading to a group of teen girls on a camping trip hosting by Sister Souljah. They may have been too young to appreciate it--so I read it, instead... again, so happy I did. I need to read it again. :-)
