Test of Easy Glider Wing on Wing Dragon ST.wmv

A modification of the 4-channel wing dragon/begin-air by replacing the standard wing with a Multiplex Easy Glider wing. This changed a 41" wingspan plane to a 72" wingspan plane. The goal was to increase the payload so that the plane can carry the heavier payload associated with an video piloting system. A carbon fiber cap was made to cover the wing joint and allow the wing to be rubber banded to the fuselage. This wing dragon has already been modified with a brushless motor/3S 2200mah Lipo battery. All that remains is to add the FPV camera and transmitter! The plane performed well with a bit of un-commanded yaw. It also glided well and I found some thermals! Inflight recording was done with a Flip Video Mino HD camera which was nylon bolted to the fuselage and reinforced with gorilla tape (the new duct tape!).

can i use 3s lipo in wing dragon with everything stock?

@usama9090 Probably not with the stock brushed motor and ESC. I use 3s 2200MAH batteries with a brushless motor from headsuprc(dot)com and their ESCs.

yep imloving this mod mate :)m im just putting anew wing together for my dragon but i cut n joined 2 sets of wing to get the lift, might get one of thos wings too though

@0n3m1s1s0 Did you cut and join other wing dragon wings? Let me know how it works. The set-up in my video has been working well and I finally got the FPV setup installed. By the way, I love that barbie doll pilot from your FPV vid!

@ceroshaper i do have Brushed motor and 8.4v 1000mah NiMH battery pack but the flight time is hardly 5 mins. I want longer flight time.What about 2s lipo then?

1st phaze of tests were good bruv :) it flew :D i will post a video responce, at the mo im making a new virt stab thats a fair bit bigger as i found without ailerons it was hard to get out of turns sometimes :(

@ceroshaper yes mate 2 sets of wings on one set i cut off the joiner section and the other set i cut all of the shaped bit at the wing tip end so when joined each half looked like an extra long wing :) added carbon spar then joined each half covered with tissue paper and PVA then when dried covered that with new curtain (silky sort) just waiting for it to all dry up now and then we will test it ;)
