Thousands of police officers from many jurisdictions lined the streets of Pittsburgh during Friday's "People's March" organized by the Thomas Merton Center. No incidents occurred during this march, even when it got to Pittsburgh's North Side where the police presence was similar to that of a small town parade. Some have theorized that the difference in police presence was because they were protecting businesses, banks and government buildings downtown. The part of the North Side that was on the route is mostly residential and lower income. Apparently the projects aren't that important to the people who give the police their orders.
wow! i guess they were expecting armaggedon rather than a riot!
