That's true. Drugs of all kinds enter the US from all parts of the world. Also, the US has a lot home grown synthetic drugs. However, the US does indeed get a very (!) large segment of its drugs from and through Mexico due to the large cocaine market. Latin American cocaine revenues are estimated at $40 billion a year. Only three organizations generate this revenue: 1. Colombian cartels, 2. Mexican cartels and 3. The 'Ndrangheta (Italy).
