This is the start up, and use of my Newton's Drawing program. The Newton eMate 300 was produced in 1997 and was stopped when Steve Jobs returned to the company. The eMate was suppose to be a revolutionary computer for the educational market. As one teacher said "it was suppose to revolutionize the class room". Well, it may not have done that, but it is still a cool Apple product.

  • Do you think you could still find some Newtons on say, eBay?

  • Yea I saw one on there last week (eMate 300) that was going for $40. I paied $60 for mine, but it came with all the manuals, original box, and the original recipt of purchase. If you do decide to get an eMate, try to find one with the RAM (for the expansion slot) already in. The last time I saw that on ebay, it was $75. It supposedly made the eMate 200% faster than original. I dont use it that much, so i couldent see spending $75 on a RAM stick for someting rarley used.

  • @MixerVM Uts a key on the keyboard, I believe.

  • i love the Newton eMate, I am getting one now, thanks to eBay. Go Newton!!!!!

  • Where is the power switch? I'm getting one of these soon.

  • People, if you want an eMate or other MessagePad especially the 2000/2100, you have to deal with the 2010 date issue. As stock, reset, it will not set to this years date of your choosing. Then, the freegin' hassle of geekfully trying to figure out what to do is enough to drive you bonkers. The Newton Community is a mess, nothing really clear to get newbies up and up. You have to find an adapter that are slightly expensive I think, then you have to wait with a bootstrapped Newton. Good luck.
