  • great video, but for future reference would you tell mike to loosen the neck on that tripod. it is like scraping fingernails on a chock board.

  • Consistent, connected ukemi is the fundamental principle to "honest" aikido, especially important at the advanced levels. Having traveled a fair bit, the first thing that strikes me is the quality of the connection by the uke as an indication of the level of the dojo. I always appreciate seeing more spoken about. Kata-like practice is excellent at the beginning and maybe middle, but at some point, the real connection between two distinct individuals is what's most compelling to me.
