well for starters i dont see ferrari throwing their 599 into gt1 competition, or in this case GT500.
so them and porsche both depends on their competitive gt2 race cars, the f430 and the 911. idk it seems more successful and alot cheaper to run them in the lower class
porsche used to run their 911 GT2 in the GT500 class back in the JGTC era (around 1995 or 1996)

I love the Japanese Super GT500/300's. Am from Australia, it's a pity I only get to see the new races ( partial ) here in youtube.
They released only one copy here a 1994 special edition JGTC.

It is because of the severity if help from the works is not given because it costs
huge cost to GT500, too. GT300 becomes a match also in a private team.
