Nurse: The-uh. (looks down at the clipboard) Jonas family?
Jemi and Kashley: (stand up)
Josh: (wheels next to them)
Nurse: They are alive.
Everyone: (sigh of relief)
J: Where are they?
Nurse: They need rest, but you are more than welcome to go check up on them.
J: (smiles) Thanks, what room?
Nurse: (flips a page over the clipboard) 202. On the second floor.
J: (runs after the elevator, pushing the up arrow)
(Everyone else, chase after him)
J: (repeatedly pushing the button)
D: (holds Joe's hand) Calm down.
J: (sigh, looking at Demi) Okay.
D: Just to let you know...
J: Hm?
D: Pushing the button over and over again doesn't make it come faster... (smiles and looks straight)
J: (pouts) Yes it does...
D: No it doesn't!
J: Yes it does!
DING!
J: See?
D: Blech. (sticks her tongue out at Joe)
J: Blech! (sticks his tongue out at her too)
Josh: Get in the elevator!
Jemi: (frown back at Josh) Spazz.
Josh: (points behind Jemi at the elevator) Go...
Jemi: (walk in, still holding hands)
Kashley: (let Josh go in first)
Josh: Thanks. (wheels into the elevator)
Kashley: (walk in)
K: (pushes the button to the 2nd floor)
Everyone: (wait for the elevator to reach their floor, then walk out)
Josh: (wheels down the hall before everyone else and finds the room, rolling in) Dad?
N: (sitting at the foot of his bed, hanging his legs down the side, looking at the tv, turns to look at Josh in the doorway) Hey.
Josh: Where's mom?
N: She's fine. (points to her bed)
S: (sleeping, hugging the pillow tightly)
Josh: (frowns) Does she always sleep like that?
N: When she's scared she tends to hug stuff in her sleep.
Josh: I bet you scare her a lot. (laughs)
N: (smiles, reaches at the head of the bed , leaving his legs to dangle and throws at pillow at Josh) Man, shut up.
Jemi, Kashley: (walk in) Hey.
Josh: (hugs the pillow) Cool! It's soft. (smiles)
N: (frowns weirdly at Josh)
Josh: What? (hugs the pillow again)
N: Whatever. (looks back at the tv)
J: You're not getting your cell phone back...
N: (frowns) What are you talking about?
J: You were texting, weren't you?
N: Oh. Uh... No. (being serious)
J: Man, shut up. (grabs the pillow from Josh's arms and throws it to Nick)
N: Whoa! (falls off the bed, still on the floor) Ow.
J: (eyes widen) You okay? (runs up to him) Dude!
N: (still on the ground) What?
J: Your leg!
N: What about it?
J: The cast!
Josh: What?! (wheels next to them)
N: (pushes himself up with his arms) I'm fine... (pulls himself up with the railings of the bed) I'm okay. (reaches for the crutches that were on the end of the bed)
J: You sure?
N: More cuts and scars, but what's new? You've been hitting me for years... (puts the crutches under his arms)
J: (rubs the back of his neck) Sorry about that.
N: I know you're sorry. It's just fun to see your reaction.
J: (rolls his eyes)
N: (looks at Selena)
S: (now is awake, tearing)
N: (smiles weakly) Hey... ('crutches' over to her, sitting on his bed, facing her)
S: When can I get out of here?
N: When you get rest.
S: I don't want it here, too many memories, and not all good ones.
N: (leans over her, stroking her hair out of her face) I don't know. It was kind of bad... (looks at his leg)
S: (looks down too) What happened?
N: It got stuck under the dashboard. Doctors say that if Joe hadn't taken me out. I would've lost me leg... (looks back at Joe) Thanks.
J: (smiling) You're welcome.
N: (looks back at Selena)
S: Please?
N: (looks back at the others in the doorway)
K: I'll go ask the doctor. (walks out to find someone)
A: I'll go with him. (walks out)
D: (shrugs and walks in, sitting next to Nick)
J: (sits Next to Demi, putting his arm around her)
Josh: (wheels to the end of the space in between the beds, clearing his throat uncomfortably, knowing what Nick was doing behind their backs)
S: What?
Josh: (looks away) Nothing.
J: (puts his hand on Josh's lap) Not now.
Josh: Sorry.
N: What?
J,Josh: Nothing.
N: I'm too tired to fight you guys.
J: Are you too tired to explain why you were texting and driving?
N: (frowns) What are you talking about? I wasn't texting.
