Today, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City officials opened the new $7.6 million New Orleans East Regional Library located at 5641 Read Blvd. The new building is on the site of the former library that was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. This library is on the edge of Joe W. Brown Memorial Park and features views of the park's substantial live oak trees and open areas.
