Do you often feel you have to put away your 1st volley or you'll be vulnerable up at net in singles?

A short angled volley will bring your opponent up inside their baseline and force them with some tough geometry.

  • good point. I know that all too often I get too excited and go for too much on my first volley and I end up missing it out wide or long. If I can just stay calm and make a good solid first volley even if my opponent gets it back, I usually have a good opportunity to hit the second volley for a winner.

  • So short angle volley is king because it brings your opponent inside the baseline and makes them cover more real estate. Great tip.

  • Brent I like the way you found a simple method of using your instruction with pro highlights. It backs up your theory. Nice work.
