Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on a world that was not Earth, has died. Getting his pilot's license before his driver's license probably didn't hurt when it came to becoming one of the world's most famous men - certainly the world's most famous space man. A remarkable man who was able to accomplish many great things, his legacy is far larger than himself - he became a symbol of our greatest accomplishments and it is very sad to now be in a world without him.

"Do you know how many people are watching this live on the telly? Half a billion. And that's nothing, because the human race will spread out among the stars-you just watch them fly. Billions and billions of them, for billions and billions of years. And every single one of them at some point in their lives will look back at this man taking that very first step and they will never ever forget it."

The people that claim this was faked are seriously lacking in critical thinking skills and do not deserve to be in the same species as Neil Armstrong.

PS: The Flat Earth Society can go fuck themselves.

"It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the earth. I put up my thumb and shut my eye, and my thumb blotted out the earth.

    I didn't feel like a giant.

    I felt very, very small."

Is it true that he converted to Islam because he heard something on the moon which he later found to be an Islamic prayer or something? That's what my School teacher told me :S

That, my friend, is a proof of how gullible and ridiculous some people can be. The moon landing is true, mainly because there are more proof saying so than saying otherwise. It's quite an insult to modern society that you still believe in some canned theory spawned by some fat man in a basement in Minnesota. See? You just believed me. Even if I didn't have any facts to prove that it was a fat man in Minnesota. Go read a fucking book.

The Soviets didn't "got to the moon" first. That's almost like saying Sputnik was the first trip into space. Robotic capsule =/= manned mission.
