funny the most offensive thing I thought was blowing billy ray cyrus' brains out. not for who it was, just the violence of it. I like Bill but never been a fan of the super violent jokes. dont have a problem with the religion jokes, and personally felt the "gay joke" was not homophobic but rather pointing out how disgusting it is people are trying to explain gay marriage without just being straightforward, but I do think some audience members laughed for another reason on that one...

Hicks makes himself look stupid here. A private entity has the right to decide what goes out over its airwaves. The only "censorship" that is dangerous and should therefore be fought whenever and wherever it appears is government censorship with the purpose of stifling dissent.

I don't think it was really the material itself that made Letterman uncomfortable -- it was the audience cheering when Hicks (jokingly) referred to "Daddy's Roommate" as disgusting, etc. It made the audience look bad in Letterman's eyes.
