  • really an excellent performance overall, and again an inspired interpretation. Obviously, Fleisher made a few errors (I'll leave it to the yt critics' club to note the details). But throughout this performance, the orchestra was superb, the conductor's approach truly fresh and challenging, and Fleisher himself was very sound overall throughout this concerto, which is among Brahms' most daunting pieces both technically and interpretively.

  • @briandonohue100 I was present at this performance, particularly exciting because Fleisher had recovered the use of his right hand after many years and returned to perform in the Piano Concerto which he preferred.

  • @briandonohue100 Not to mention that it is truly remarkable to see Fleisher at his best after so many years crippled by a nerve disorder in his right hand. He is truly a great pianist. I especially love his recording of the Beethoven concerti with Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra. Wow.

  • @hidkidd

    Yeah, terrible.

I know why that is, because he cannot stretch his 5th finger in certain combinations anymore.

As long as you want to go on playing the piano, this is not a joke.

  • @cnabaie

Yeah, but don't forget the problem of focal dystonia is inside the brain itself!

  • @yangdahui

    I agree with you.

  • @orso1149

He might have "recovered the use of his right hand" far from completely.

  • @briandonohue100

Due to focal dystonia, this is not an excellent but a bad performance.

  • I'm sure I can help this man.

    Geert Dehoux, pianist.

  • Did you see his Pinky. at .2:47

  • @jiririji

    No problem!

That's what I thought and that's why I wanted to give you this information.

    Regards,

    Geert Dehoux.
