Seriously though this is a dangerous adaptor I still have my modem pack from talktalk but stopped using it for this very reason.
Upward force? When it's sat on the floor, in a 4 way adaptor, and you acidentally kick it, yup, upward force can happen.
Thankfully nothing bad came of the incident as I was wearing trainers, which is unusual for me, I normally wear sweaty socks when sat in front of my PC, if I had been at the time I acidentally kicked the TalkTalk modem PSU, well...

You my friend have far to much time on your hands...

lol... the aussies would have to call out a certified electrician every time the adapter came apart (uncertified ppl are only supposed to make electrical connections of 50VAC or less)

Well that's interesting. But i do have a wee problem with your video.
Firstly, how many people do you know would be worried about a plug coming apart due to UPWARD force? I can't remember the last time i pushed a plug up from the bottom.
Secondly, your menthods at demonstrating this were not very safe. Placing the meter probes on the contacts with ONE HAND while holding your camera is not the brightest thing i've ever seen. Pitty you didn't make more of a statement by electrocuting yourself!

If the talktalk adapter is in a 3 way socket adapter the chance are the talktalk adapter is upsidedown, so forces are donwwards to make it fall apart.
Electrocuting myself? been there & done that whislt repairing a commercial microwave oven with a 2 handed approach.... 5kv across the chest is not much fun, hence the one handed approach (fried fingers instead of heart!)
Electricity is safe if handled with the respect it deserves.
