  • This cracked me up, I have to admit. If we're scoring points here, Layton won by a mile, even if I won't vote for him. He makes a brilliant point here, but he should have gone deeper. Here's a guy who wasn't even an MP before he decided to run for leadership. He figured he'd skip all that pointless service crap and get right to being the prime minister. Say what you want about Harper and Layton, but they've both put some work in as MPs. And then he doesn't even show up? Pompous ass.

  • Iggy was a clown.

  • It shows how fragile life is when Jack died a mere four months later.

  • @1974Qball HAHAHA ! sooo true!

  • The obvious response from Ignatieff should have been (something along the lines of) "Mr. Layton, I was crossing the country to speak to ordinary Canadians to hear from them first hand what they want from their government. In addition to representing their interests in the House of Commons, a good MP goes out to listen to their constituents so that they know what's important to them". Baffling that Ignatieff's strategists/speech writer didn't see this one coming from Layton.

  • I was quite surprised by Ignatieff's performance in this debate -- outside of this moment, he didn't perform too badly, but it all sounded horribly scripted. Much of the time he was sticking to talking points that were clearly not prepared by him (I feel that he was essentially given a script detailing exactly what he should talk about during the debate). Why didn't any of his script writers prepare him for this question? Layton asked nearly the exact same question to Dion in the 2008 debate.

  • @pingramnet i wish the camera was on Harper when Layton tore Iggy a new one, :D, i could just see what he was thinking, like a school yard kid jumping around flicking his hand saying "ohhhh snap, owned bitch yo ass got fucked up" instigating a fight :D.

  • TSN turning point?

  • Oh man, Layton made poor Iggy look like a stammering monkey in that clip. Iggy was totally owned and house broken by the end of that.

  • His finest hour, glad Layton can rest in peace knowing he cemented his legacy.
