@octobermonsters Regarding this movie alone (I haven't seen Dumont's other) I think you're way off. Yes Katia is treated in an sexually abusive way by David, but it isn't approved within the film. On the contrary, it's an example of David's insecurity and frustration about his masculinity.
Also, are you forgetting how unconventional on that matter the actual rape scene is?
This was one of the worst movies I have seen......EVER!!!! How do I get 2 hours of my life back.......I ended up watching it in fast forward because literally NOTHING happened...............till the end and thank God it was over. WORST EVER.
@octobermonsters Oh, you mean his film's subject manner filtered through a tame, politically correct smokescreen? If your comment is seriously indicative of what you walk away from this film with, then I'm sure there is a cute Gerard Butler and Sandra Bullock movie that will suit you two lovebirds.
Dumonts films seem to have quite a sexual threat to women- show women being raped or used or shown naked in a derrogatory abusive yet 'Artful' manner. My girl friend feels uneasy and excluded which is a shame so we're not watching anymore of his films.
Feel like his films subject matter would be more engaging made by a women.
most disturbing end ever.....

Un film Grandiose. Un vrai grand choc esthétique.
J'ai pris une vraie "claque", comme après "L'humanité".
Merci Mr Bruno Dumont de disséquer à ce point ce que "Nous" sommes.
