actually i played quake ca. 5 years ago (or something), where i learned the basics (strafejumping, circlejump, rocketjump etc.) but made a long break until now. i play again since half a year now and became like you saw in the video ;)
all i can say is: practice some years, it depends on your 3d shooter experience and how fast you learn ;) but you will need a good ping too... 120 ping for rocket arena wont work.

Very nice movie and nice skill mate, I'm a CS player, and have zero skill in quake, but I started to play it less than a month ago, I have some aiming and I'm good at jumping (CPMA at least =p) since I'm a very good jumper in CS too which work is very similar... The thing is, as soon as I get into any server, I often get raped, and I mean real unmercyful rape (although may be my >120 ping)... I was wondering how long have you been playing and how long did it took you to get to a decent level?
