@nm9730 correct me if i am wrong. but i am thinking that person was saying something to the effect of, cold engines do not last too long being thrashed like that. these old DD's tho. appear not to give a shit. they run for damn near forever

@CowboyTheHellUp If that was true then half the trucks on the interstate would be junked. Who ever told you that is very very wrong. there are numerous companies selling packages putting engine well over 800 hp.

You want serious power get a 3408 and run a set of turbos in a 2 tier arrangement. They come to life @ over 1000 hp and can go over 1500. Check out some of the road trains from Austrailia, 1500 hp 3408s is common place.

i use to work on a pilotboat with 2 screamin detroit 12v71's main engine's in it, man they where loud at full speed
