Because of endless pressure from celebrity supporters like Johnny Depp, Peter Jackson, Natalie Maines, Eddie Vedder, Henry Rollins, Dave Navarro, Marilyn Manson... etc and the legal team they funded. They are still convicted murderers, from two trials and two juries.

This was a way they could supposedly work on clearing their names from the "outside". If they commit any crimes within the next 10 years the deal is off , and they will go back to prison.

Don. Only problem with that statement is that Arkansas is one of 23 states that does not have a statute allowing exonerated people to sue for wrongful conviction.
